U.S. Russian Relations

INTL ST 179 (4.0 units)Session I

Examines contemporary relations between the United States and Russia, including the following themes: historical legacy of the relationship which was the main axis of global politics for much of the 20th century; changes which have taken place since the end of the Cold War; key factors (political, economic, security) which foster cooperation between America and Russia, and those which generate mutual distrust and tensions; strategies to avoid new confrontations and achieve a durable partnership between the two nations. Repeatability: Unlimited as topics vary. Same as POL SCI 159, HISTORY 183, SOC SCI 189.
