If you would like to be considered for summer financial aid, you must complete both the following steps by their respective deadlines:
- Submit your 2016-2017 FAFSA* by June 30, 2017 though it is recommended that you complete your FAFSA by May 31, 2017 to ensure your record can be successfully submitted. Please note that the 2016-2017 FAFSA that is required for summer aid is last year's form, which is different than the 2017-2018 FAFSA that you may have already completed for fall financial aid.
- Complete the online Summer Financial Aid Estimator by logging into My Aid by June 16, 2017 to be considered for grant funding.
After May 31, 2017 loans may be available, based on your personal financial situation. In order to be eligible to apply for summer aid, please also keep in mind that you must enroll in a minimum of six (6) units.
If you are applying for summer financial aid, you need only pay the mandatory $175 campus fee upon enrollment into Transfer Edge. Transfer Edge students should mark that they intend to use financial aid in Section 1 of the Transfer Edge Enrollment Form (available spring 2017). Once financial aid is distributed, it will automatically count towards your account balance. Any remaining fees, if any, will be requested from you at that time.
The State of California requires that you be told the following: Federal student loans are available to most students regardless of income and provide a range of repayment options including income-based repayment plans and loan forgiveness benefits, which other education loans are not required to provide.
