- Why attend?
- Student Experience
Living on campus during Transfer Edge is an optional, though highly recommended aspect of the program.
Transfer Edge housing is a 10-15 minute walk from campus and is located in the on-campus undergraduate community of Arroyo Vista. Houses feature 12-32 beds, a full kitchen, and access to laundry.
By choosing to live on campus during the program, you will be grouped with other Transfer Edge students and will be able to best take advantage of the many student life opportunities organized exclusively for Transfer Edge students. You will also have the unique opportunity to learn from experienced UCI students who will be living with you as Resident Assistants (RA’s).
Program Housing is offered on a first-come, first-served basis, so apply early!
NOTE: Per Arroyo Vista’s contract: Residency under [their] agreement is limited to participants under the age of 25. Residency for participants 25 years of age or older is subject to administrative review and approval by UCI Student Housing. You may search for other housing options through the UCI Housing Office.
How to Apply for Summer Housing
Please follow the steps below to obtain and submit a Summer Housing Contract:
- Indicate in your Transfer Edge enrollment information that you are interested in housing for summer, and submit your enrollment form before the residential student deadline (May 25 for Session I & Full Summer, June 29 for Session II)
- Once Summer Session has finished processing your enrollment, you will receive a welcome email from the Transfer Edge team with directions on how to apply for housing. You should expect this e-mail within 7-10 business days after you are enrolled.
- Follow the instructions in the welcome e-mail to sign and submit a housing contract. Contracts are independent and separate from your academic year housing contract.
- Once your contract is received and processed, you will receive a confirmation e-mail from UCI's Housing department.
Apply for Transfer Edge as soon as possible! Spaces are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Students interested in housing that submit their Transfer Edge enrollment after the residential deadline will be handled on a case-by-case basis by the UCI Housing Administration Office.
Please review the Transfer Edge housing cancellation policies below.
Please Note: Transfer Edge housing is completely separate from your academic year housing and requires a separate contract.
Please note that the due date for Transfer Edge Housing Contracts are prior to the final Transfer Edge Enrollment Form deadlines. If you are interested in living in Transfer Edge Housing, we recommend you submit your Enrollment Form well ahead of the Contract deadline. Our team can only send you a Summer Housing Contract once we have received and processed your Enrollment Form.

*Residential contracts do not include linens or kitchen supplies. Plan to bring your own bedding, towels, and kitchen supplies. Total fee does not include a meal plan. Meal plan options will be communicated in your program welcome information. Residential students should also budget approximately $600 for food during the program.
Students are responsible for cancelling their program housing contract should they decide not to attend the program. Your housing contract is a legally binding agreement, and a late cancellation charge will be assessed should you decide to cancel your housing contract. The amount of the late cancellation charge is assessed on a sliding scale (see housing contract). Prior to the start date of your housing contract, you may submit a contract cancellation form, which must include your signature, your UCI Student ID# and contract type. If you were under 18 years old at the time you signed your contract, the cancellation form must include the signatures of both the student and the guarantor (parent or legal guardian) named on your contract. After the start date of your housing contract, you must contact Arroyo Vista directly as cancellation requests submitted will be subject to administrative review.
