Course and Program Fees

The following is a list of fees to attend Freshman Edge:

*Additional course materials fees (non-refundable) may apply depending on your chosen course. The $273 per unit fee is based on the current UC tuition. The Summer Session tuition is subject to change by action of the UC Regents at any time for all UC campuses, including UC Irvine. Course fees are refundable up until August 18th, 2017. Students may apply for a refund of course fees on a Summer Session Course Change Request form.

Summer Bridge

Summer Bridge students will have their fees and expenses funded by the Summer Bridge Scholarship, based on student financial need. Summer Bridge Scholarship applicants must submit only payment for the non-refundable mandatory campus fee of $175 on their Summer Bridge enrollment form upon acceptance of the scholarship to hold their space in the program and courses. Upon completion of Summer Bridge, the $175 fee will be reimbursed to students as a final portion of the scholarship.

Housing Fees

Program Housing requires a separate payment that must be completed to reserve your space.

Housing is optional, but highly recommended. Please note that there is a separate Housing contract (different from the Freshman Edge enrollment form) that must be completed in order to reserve your room for Freshman Edge. Residential contracts do not include linens or kitchen supplies. Plan to bring your own bedding, towels, and kitchen supplies. Total fee does not include a meal plan. Meal plan options will be communicated in your program welcome information. Residential students should also budget approximately $600 for food during the program.

Student Parent Orientation Program (SPOP)

All Freshman Edge students should attend SPOP in addition to Freshman Edge. Enrollment in SPOP is separate from Freshman Edge and requires a separate payment in order to reserve a space. Details regarding SPOP as it relates to Freshman Edge have not yet been finalized for 2017. Please see SPOP for more details.

Financial Aid

Refund Policy

The $175 mandatory campus fee, course materials fees, and airport pick-up fee are non-refundable. Courses may be dropped for a full refund of the per unit course fees until August 18, 2017. No refunds of any kind are given for drops after this date.
