- Why attend?
- Student Experience
Living on campus during Freshman Edge is an optional, though highly recommended aspect of the program.
Freshman Edge housing is a 10-15 minute walk from campus and is located in the on-campus undergraduate community of Arroyo Vista. Houses feature 12-32 beds, a full kitchen, and access to laundry.
By choosing to live on campus during the program, you will be grouped with other Freshman Edge students and will be able to best take advantage of the many student life opportunities organized exclusively for Freshman Edge students. You will also have the unique opportunity to learn from experienced UCI students who will be living with you as Resident Assistants (RA’s).
Program Housing is offered on a first-come, first-served basis, so apply early!
How to Apply for Summer Housing
Please follow the following steps to obtain and submit a Summer Housing Contract:
- Indicate in your Freshman Edge enrollment information that you are interested in housing for summer.
- Once Summer Session has finished processiong your enrollment, you will receive a welcome email from the Freshman Edge team with directions on how to apply for housing. You should expect this e-mail with 7-10 business days after you are enrolled.
- Follow the instructions in the welcome e-mail to sign and submit a housing contract by Friday, June 30. Contracts are independent and separate from your academic year housing contract.
- Once your contract is received and processed, you will receive a confirmation e-mail from UCI's Housing department.
Apply for Freshman Edge as soon as possible! Spaces are offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Housing contracts received after June 30 will be handled on a case-by-case basis by the UCI Housing Administration Office.
Please review the Freshman Edge Housing Cancellation policies below.
Please Note: Freshman Edge housing is completely separate from your academic year housing and requires a separate contract.
The last date to submit a Freshman Edge Housing Contract is Friday, June 30. Note that this date is prior to the final Freshman Edge Enrollment Form deadline, July 21. If you are interested in living in Freshman Edge Housing, we recommend you submit your Enrollment Form well ahead of the Contract deadline. If you were under 18 years old at the time you signed your contract, the cancellation form must include the signatures of both the student and the guarantor (parent or legal guardian) named on your contract.
