Your FSSP Coordinators will be working to enhance your first experiences at UCI, and will be available for all of your immediate needs as you plan for and begin your experience at UCI.
The FSSP Undergraduate Interns all participated in last summer’s Freshman Summer Start Program as pre-freshman and are now dedicated to using their experience to enhance your summer experience. Some of the Interns will be living with you in Arroyo Vista for the duration of the Program, and all of them have played a role in planning and/or implementing your 2009 FSSP program!

Annalisa Carrillo-Fulk
Social Science, Class of 2012
(From San Diego and Temecula)
After completing the Freshman Summer Start Program last summer, UCI has nurtured my interest in dance, art, anthropology, and general sciences, among others. With these interests in mind, I am very excited to show incoming freshmen how the activities they enjoy may be fostered at UCI, and how they can incorporate them into their UCI academic career. Joining FSSP as an incoming freshman was one of the best choices I have ever made. The program broke down all the doubts and fears I had about being a student at a university.

Political Science, Class of 2012
(From Wrightwood)
Like many others, I enjoy leadership, public speaking, outdoor activities, and making a difference in the world. For me, participation in last summer's Freshman Summer Start Program provided me with the essential foundations that I needed to succeed at UCI, both academically and socially. I strongly encourage all incoming freshman to take part in this unforgettable experience where you are going to have some of the best times of your lives.

Film and Media Studies,
Class of 2012
(From San Jose)
With the dedication and enthusiasm my fellow FSSP interns and I share for the program and the prospect of getting to experience another summer with FSSP , I cannot wait to get started! For me, starting my UCI experience with FSSP meant the difference between a rocky, stressful transition and a smooth, exciting one. In those short five weeks, I've made friends and memories that will last me a lifetime.

Neha Sata
Political Science, Class of 2012
(From Bombay, India and San Diego)
I was born and brought up in Bombay, India, but moved to San Diego when I was 10. As a participant in last summer’s Freshman Summer Start Program, I had an amazing experience as it helped me build upon my social skills and prepared me for my freshman year. I made friends that I am still close to today and got a chance to meet the faculty and explore the various resources on campus. After the program I felt confident and ready for college. I can’t wait to be a part of this summer’s FSSP program and share my experience with incoming students!

Catherine Jonas
Drama, Class of 2012
(From Oceanside)
As a drama major also planning on adding a minor in studio art, I have a great interest in dance as well as the other arts. I have now come to see and think of UCI as my home, and my experience with FSSP was astonishing! I am looking forward to helping other students get a feel for the UCI community this summer. I never thought that I would make such amazing friends that would stick with me through the school year and in years to come.

Carolina Ungs
Biological Science, Class of 2012
(From Concord)
My ultimate goal is to see the new incoming students find a sense of comfort and pleasure in their choice to come to UC Irvine. As a former FSSP participant I felt a sense of security in terms of knowing and understanding the campus and establishing a good group of friends. Since I was the only person from my high school coming to UCI, I had many doubts about how to get involved in a community nearly ten times the size of my previous school! A majority of the students in FSSP where in the same situation and looking for a new sense of community on campus; during the month and a half I spent with FSSP I found my second family.
